The aim of Photos for the Future is to create a lasting visual record of life over the past century for future generations, through the collection of personal photographs and stories.

We are inviting you to share your old photographs with us by posting them on this site. We are looking for photos of historic significance, whether they show the changing face of your local high street, your family’s first car or the fashions from your grandparent’s era.

Not only that, we would like to know as much of the background to the picture and the people in it as possible. What were their jobs? How much did they earn? Where was it taken and when? Did they walk to work? What make was the car?
